A "female" mecha. I wanted to portray an elegant-looking mecha this time. This was meant as a design for a game, but was not used in the end because mecha combat was taken out of the game play. :(

An anti-gravity drive is probably necessary for such a design. I estimate her height to be around 25m...

hehe, yup! It's a great game. Hopefully by the time they come to remaking it (if they can ever get to), it'll be even better. Meh, I like plots, though, so it wasn't horrible watching the second disk. ^_^

I also don't mind plot-filled and cinematics-heavy RPGs. (Actually I think I prefer those ^^;) It's funny, but I think I caught a glimpse of a baby Fei in Xenosaga 1 during one of its final cinematics. Not totally sure it's him though...

Yeah, playing with blocks, right? I'm not sure if that was "Abel" or...proto-Fei or whatever you want to call it. It seemed a little out of place, though. Especially with the end song. I'm not sure, maybe I was just expecting a more satisfying ending to the game. It was fun, but it wasn't Xenogears at all. As far as prequels go, though, I've seen worse.

It's somehow creepy without legs. Makes me think of Silent Hill and I don't know why.

... I don't know why, but this reminds me Rah Xephon a lot ... but only reminds, your design is pretty awesome ... ...

Thanks, da37!

Perhaps it reminded you of Rahxephon because the main thrust of the design is aesthetic (as opposed to realistic or pseudo-realistic), as I believe to be so for the designs of the mulian "mechas". They're like floating sculptures! It's too bad the hero mecha, rahxephon, looks like it is designed with the goal of selling toys...bright blue, bright red & bright yellow on bright white. :)

My main influence in mecha design is probably Mamoru Nagano (Five Star Stories fame). He's a genius mecha designer, no doubts about it!

The designs of Yutaka Izubuchi (Nu Gundam, Gundam 0080, Rune Masquer), Shoji Kawamori (Macross) and Masamune Shirow (Appleseed, Ghost in the Shell) are also great inspirations.

... =D ... it looks like that you are really involved in mecha world ... I have seen great number of different anime serials / movies by myself (80+) and the most interesting mechas (for me) I've found out in Rah Xephon (I don't mean "good" side ones, but "bad" side mechas ... they are really awesome and original ... and somehow scary =D) ... and your mixture of talent and "suitable" inspiration made me feel nearly same! Go on and be well :floating: ...
