Yep, the valkyrie painting is done :). I entered this for a contest over at Epilogue. It depicts a Valkyrie on her silver steed on a war-torn land. The butterfly she is looking at is the manifestation of a soul of warriors who died on the battlefield. So, this picture has a combo of norse myth (valkyrie), greek myth (pegasus) and japanese myth (spirit butterfly), hohoho :XD:

My original plan for this is a more complex, epic landscape pic depicting the legend of valkyries leading the souls of brave norse warriors, who died on the battlefield, towards Valhalla (Norse myth heaven) so that they can fight for the gods. But, erm, I got lazy and tone down the scope... ^^;

Thank you hi-i :). I used a wacom intuos 2 tablet and photoshop 7. Metallic looks can be gotten by painting the bright spots at the places where the lights reflect from it to your eyes. (These spots are also called "specular reflections" in 3D terminology)

One of these days, I'll prolly do a piece of a whole fleet of valkyries and pegasii (or are they pegasuses??) descending through the clouds from Valhalla. Thanks for the fave :)

YES!! u finished it!!! wow.. this is soo good ! man.. awsome to the very little detail. and fantastic job with the armor. man. everything looks so real! T.T *wishes he knew how to do thaT* but somemore awsome parts are the fire bird, the sky. arg.. way too many good things about this.. +fav+fav+fav+ :D :)
